Viwaham.com is a matrimonial service for Sri Lankan Tamil families — those at home and those spread across Canada, the UK, Australia, Europe, India and the Gulf. We are based in Colombo, and we have been running since 2023.
Proposals in our community do not begin with two individuals swiping. They begin with families, horoscopes, community, and a set of practical questions about work, residence and who moves where.
We built Viwaham because the way Tamil families actually arrange marriages was not well served by the platforms available. A service that ignores all of that is not much use, however polished it looks.
So the site is built around how the conversation really goes. Profiles carry the details a family will ask about in the first phone call — community, religion, nakshatra and rasi, education, occupation, country of residence, and clearly stated partner preferences. Search and matching work on those same fields. A parent or sibling can manage a profile on behalf of the person seeking marriage, because that is how most of our profiles are created.
Nothing here costs anything, and you can stop at any stage.

The distinction is simple, and it matters.
That is the point of a matrimonial listing, and profile pages can be found by search engines. Age, community, religion, education, occupation, location and photographs are all visible.
We never display your mobile number, email address or postal address to other members or on the public site, and we do not sell member data to anybody.

Creating a profile, browsing profiles and viewing full profile details are free. Paid membership plans add features such as priority placement and direct contact; where a plan applies, the price and term are shown before you pay. We do not charge commission on a marriage, and we are not a broker.
Viwaham is funded by paid memberships and by advertising. Advertising is supplied by third parties including Google, and ads are clearly separated from member profiles. Advertisers have no access to member data, and no advertiser can influence which profiles are shown to you. Our policy pages carry no advertising at all.
Our blog is written in-house by the Viwaham team in Colombo.
